    Melissa

Melissa discovered Pilates 10 years ago when a bad running injury left her out of running action for an extended period of time. Pilates has helped her heal more than once, both from injury and surgery. Small movements, done with mindful control, have a big impact.

She is a STOTT Pilates qualified instructor for matwork, and also holds an advanced matwork Diploma in Pilates from the NTC, National Training Centre.

Melissa has always been passionate about physical health and fitness, running from a young age, and a happy hiker. Pilates is the perfect complement both to the cardio of running, and to the desk based nature of her day job, working in Learning and Development.

She firmly believes that a consistent Pilates practice makes you strong mentally as well as physically. Learning to feel the movements in your unique body, learning to master movements that at first feel challenging. These things are empowering, and fill us with confidence and self belief.

  • Siân

Siân Brown’s Pilates journey began in her late twenties after she was diagnosed with hypermobility and struggled with ongoing joint and lower back pain. Following medical advice, she started practising mat Pilates and was soon introduced to reformer Pilates. What began as a recommendation quickly became a passion, as she discovered how powerful Pilates could be for building strength, improving mobility, and relieving pain.

After almost a decade of practising reformer Pilates, Siân decided to turn her passion into a career. She trained as a Pilates mat instructor through online training and with Profi Fitness, before beginning her reformer instructor training with Flex in the City. At the start of this year she also began a more in-depth mat Pilates training programme with Flex to further deepen her knowledge.

Pilates has been transformative in Siân’s life, helping to manage the aches and pains associated with hypermobility and providing huge relief from sciatica. She loves that Pilates supports both physical and mental wellbeing and is passionate about helping others move, stretch, and strengthen their bodies in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
